Killeen’s Own Daniel Cobb Becomes NFL Scout

Killeen’s own Daniel Cobb puts down the shoulder pads to help the NFL in a different way: becoming an NFL scout. Cobb is an avid support of Kids Advantage and the Ft. Hood/Killeen community. We are very proud of his transition into the next phase of life, we are fans of everything he and his family continue to do for the community. Daniel is a shining example for our military kids of what it means to persevere and work hard towards the dreams and expectations we have for ourselves!

From Saturday Tradition-

“Former Minnesota running back David Cobb has landed a new job in the NFL.

On Friday, Andy Greder of the Pioneer Press reported that Cobb has been hired by the Carolina Panthers as a scouting assistant. The former fifth-round selection in the 2015 NFL Draft makes the move into the role following a five-year professional football career.

Cobb was selected by the Tennessee Titans and played for the franchise for the 2015 campaign. He totaled 146 yards and a touchdown on 52 carries. He was then signed to practice squads for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bears.

Before heading to the NFL, Cobb had an impressive four-year run at Minnesota. Suiting up for the Gophers from 2011-14, Cobb rushed for a total of 2,893 yards and 20 touchdowns while also catching 39 passes for 334 yards.

Cobb’s most productive seasons came in 2013 and 2014, hitting the 1,000-yard mark both years. He ended his career at Minnesota in 2014 with 1,626 yards on 314 carries, a 5.2 yards per touch average. He also had 16 catches for 162 yards and rushed for 13 touchdowns.”

Daniel Cobb becomes an NFL Scout and we look forward to what comes next!
